About The Position
Ensemble Schools is seeking an experienced, professional music instructor to teach part-time for At Your Door Music, serving students in Newton, Wellesley, Weston, and surrounding towns. Lessons take place in students’ homes and are in person. Instructors may teach voice, piano, guitar, or more than one of these subjects. Teachers can set their availability within the school’s open hours; consistent availability is preferred. The role requires reliable transportation to travel to family residences. Pay is $38–$42 per hour, commensurate with experience. Employee status is an option, and liability insurance coverage is provided. Health benefit options and a 401(k) with employer match are available to part-time and full-time Ensemble employees after 30 days of employment. Mileage reimbursement is approximately $8 per pay period. At Your Door Music is a traveling music school offering 60-minute, one-on-one lessons in students’ homes. It serves children ages six and up, adults, and students at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Ensemble Schools is a partnership of community-driven music and dance schools that retain their individual identities while sharing resources. Requirements
- Strong music background demonstrated by a degree in performance or equivalent performing experience.
- Demonstrated love of teaching.
- Experience working with young musicians.
- Punctuality.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a routine background check.

Responsibilities
- Teach in-person music lessons in students’ homes in the Newton, Wellesley, Weston, and surrounding areas.
- Provide instruction in one or more of the following: voice, piano, and guitar.
- Offer 60-minute, one-on-one lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Maintain consistent availability within the school’s open hours when possible.
- Travel reliably to students’ residences.
