About The Position
The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase and retain student enrollment while helping each student grow, develop, and enjoy playing music. The Music Teacher contributes to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and provides an excellent customer experience. The stated pay rate is $16.90–$20.34 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $30.14 per hour at the total teaching rate, depending on background and experience. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, other factors, and location; the listed ranges are not a promise of specific compensation.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area the candidate will teach.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and their families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child.
- Communicate students’ progress and goals to students and/or their parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
