About The Position

The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase student enrollment and help students continue to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music, while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, assists with customer service as needed, and builds long-term student relationships by creating a positive experience. The teacher also communicates frequently with students and families about progress and goals, building trusting partnerships and valuing parents’ knowledge of their children.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area the candidate will teach.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on the needs of the community.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and embracing parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
Communicate students’ progress and goals to students and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
