Multi-Unit General Manager
About The Position
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Multi-Unit General Manager to oversee its Northshore and Burlington Mall locations. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the founding team as the company grows. The ideal candidate has experience operating food retail spaces, either across multiple units or in a high-volume single unit, enjoys building and leading teams, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Multi-Unit General Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the assigned stores, including people operations, sales, inventory, and the guest service experience.
Requirements
- ServSafe Manager Food Handlers license required.
- Prior experience managing a team required.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of experience in a food retail management role preferred.
- Experience operating food retail spaces, in multi-unit or high-volume single-unit settings.
- Enjoys building and leading teams and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Schedule employees and assign stations to meet store operational requirements.
- Recruit, select, orient, and train employees.
- Coach, counsel, discipline, and terminate employees; plan, monitor, and appraise job results.
- Monitor sales targets, maintain budgets, and forecast labor to achieve financial objectives.
- Uphold excellent customer service standards.
- Coordinate with vendors and maintain inventories to ensure merchandise and services are available.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for customers and employees.
- Roll out new menu items to team members and communicate changes throughout the retail space.
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Order and maintain uniforms and ensure employees meet uniform standards.
- Address maintenance issues.
