About The Position

This position works at the Gulfport Main Hospital in Peri-Op and Endoscopy and supports work at the Surgery Centers in Ocean Springs and Cedar Lake. The technician provides safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective patient care as scheduled.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care services.
• Ensure activities of daily living are performed as scheduled and documented.
• Perform technical skills according to standards when assigned or delegated.
• Respond promptly to call lights as appropriate.
• Participate proactively in implementing patient care plans.
• Schedule patients for treatments, procedures, and tests according to standards.
• Follow safety rules in all patient care areas and help ensure a safe patient environment.
• Maintain patient data and records.
• Communicate patient and family health care needs to the appropriate health care provider.
• Report significant events and information promptly to the appropriate team member.
• Share patient and family input with the appropriate team member to assist with planning.
• Answer telephone calls and call lights appropriately and promptly, delivering information to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain supplies and equipment in the assigned area.
• Ensure patient care and unit equipment are in proper working order.
• Perform courier services as requested.
• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies.
