About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Multi Skilled Technician to join its team in Corinth, Mississippi. The technician responds to work orders and troubleshoots, performs preventive and corrective maintenance, and repairs or modifies a wide variety of industrial equipment and systems. Equipment may include HVAC units, air handling units, compressors, conveyors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and controls. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., although hours may vary with business demand. Weekend hours may be scheduled to support a 24/7 operation, and the position may require various shifts, alternative schedules, overtime, and holiday work. The role requires following safety procedures, including job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout, and wearing required personal protective equipment. Candidates offered the position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. A valid driver’s license may be required, and the employee must be able to obtain a security access badge at the client’s location. The position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Requirements

High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Five years of experience maintaining buildings, facilities, or equipment in an industrial environment, or a demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during a shift.
Ability to bend or stoop, squat, kneel, move in a 90-degree fashion, and stretch or reach repetitively during a shift.
Ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during a shift.
Ability to use a company- or client-approved utility knife.
Ability to differentiate colors used for wire color-coding.
Ability to perform tasks involving repetitive wrist movement.
Ability to interact professionally and courteously with clients, including during stressful periods.
Ability to cope with job and workplace demands while maintaining acceptable performance and contribution.
Wear steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other PPE as needed.
Must be willing to work overtime when required and may be required to work weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree or trade school certification in HVAC, industrial electrical, industrial mechanical, industrial technology, or a related field.
Experience working with HVAC units and air handling units.
Experience working on CNC machine tools.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial lighting systems.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing control systems and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Respond to work orders and troubleshoot industrial systems and equipment.
Perform repairs, modifications, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on equipment in an industrial environment.
Perform preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC units, air handling units, lighting systems, and electrical equipment such as disconnects and faulty breakers.
Repair or replace machine bearings, shafts, augers, chains, sprockets, and machine guarding.
Operate aerial and platform lifts and use volt meters.
Assist with moving machines, fixtures, materials, and equipment as required.
Read and understand schematics, diagrams, and specifications.
Follow safety guidelines, including job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures, and wear required PPE.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
