MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist: 28 Hours Per Week (PM)
About The Position
The MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist is responsible for specimen processing, performing tests, and reporting test results. Testing may include waived, moderate, and high complexity tests, as authorized by the Director. The role also participates in quality control procedures and follows departmental quality assurance and quality management standards, including applicable JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and other agency requirements. Specimen collection is performed as necessary. This position is located at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville in Crawfordsville, Indiana. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with a weekend and/or holiday rotation. The position is 28 hours per week (0.7 FTE).
Requirements
- For an MLT: Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- For an MT: Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited college or university, or a bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Process specimens.
- Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity testing as authorized by the Director.
- Report test results according to established procedures.
- Participate in quality control procedures.
- Comply with departmental quality assurance and quality management standards and applicable JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and other agency requirements.
- Perform specimen collection as necessary.
