About The Position
FirstHealth of the Carolinas is a nationally recognized health care system in central North Carolina, with four hospitals and more than 75 locations across a 15-county service area. The system provides hospital, clinic, home health, hospice, emergency care, and medical transportation services. The MLT/MT performs laboratory procedures under established and approved protocols, exercising moderate to broad independent judgment and responsibility. Medical Laboratory Technicians or Medical Laboratory Scientists perform a broad range of laboratory procedures or may specialize in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, or laboratory send-out reference testing. New graduates are welcome to apply.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in applied science for medical laboratory technology, biology, chemistry, or a related science.
- One year of clinical training in an accredited school of medical technology.
- Registration by a nationally recognized certification agency or registry eligibility.

- Active certification is preferred.
