Moulding Technician I
About The Position
GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind business manufactures wind turbine products. The Moulding Technician I performs moulding tasks safely and efficiently by following work instructions and health and safety requirements, including precautions for chemical use and required personal protective equipment. Work includes applying gel coat, laying glass and foam, assembling a root plate with bushings, laying profiles, preparing a shell for infusion, and completing and monitoring the infusion process. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. For U.S.-based candidates, the stated base pay range is $22.88–$27.50. Requirements
- Ability to lift or carry objects or materials up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to push and pull heavy objects.
- Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete floors.
- Ability to work with hands for an extended period.
- Ability to operate basic hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Must wear a respirator.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma/GED or related experience.
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Previous experience working with wind turbine blades or composites.
Responsibilities
- Perform moulding tasks according to work instructions.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment and follow health and safety instructions regarding chemical usage.
- Apply gel coat; lay glass and foam; smooth wrinkles; and trim glass.
- Assemble the root plate with bushings.
- Lay profiles and place a bag over the shell.
- Complete the infusion process, including vacuum checks, starting infusion, troubleshooting, and taking temperatures throughout the remainder of the process.
