About The Position

Perform a variety of tasks to carry out the moulding function in wind turbine manufacturing safely and efficiently. The role involves following work instructions, handling materials and equipment, and completing mould preparation and infusion activities while complying with health and safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment and a respirator. The stated shift is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Ability to lift or carry objects or materials up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to push and pull heavy objects.
• Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete floors.
• Ability to work with hands for an extended period.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Must wear a respirator.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma/GED or related experience.
• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Previous experience working with wind turbine blades or composites.

Responsibilities

• Perform moulding tasks according to work instructions.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment and follow health and safety instructions regarding chemical usage.
• Apply gel coat, lay glass and foam, smooth wrinkles, and trim glass.
• Assemble the root plate with bushings.
• Lay profiles and place a bag over the shell.
• Complete the infusion process, including checking the vacuum, beginning infusion, troubleshooting, and taking temperatures for the remainder of the process.
