About The Position

Merchants Bank in Rosemount is hiring a Mortgage Lender to serve potential real estate loan customers for both in-house loans and loans sold to the Secondary Market. The role also involves cross-selling consumer banking products and services, focusing on relationship banking, and working with market teammates to develop mortgage opportunities. The Mortgage Lender analyzes customer needs and recommends other Bank products and services. The position requires travel and is predominantly based indoors, with customer meetings outside the Bank in varying conditions and hours.

Requirements

3–5 years of residential lending experience.
High aptitude in financial analysis.
Sales ability and customer orientation.
Confidentiality and strong interpersonal communication.
Excellent customer relations skills and the ability to consistently present a positive, professional image.
Ability to handle sensitive situations.
Regular and dependable attendance.
Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

Serve potential real estate loan customers for in-house loans and loans sold to the Secondary Market.
Interview loan applicants, build rapport, and gather information needed to assess applications.
Manage the loan pipeline, follow up with applicants, and guide loans through closing.
Cross-sell other banking services and recommend products that meet customer needs.
Apply knowledge of construction lending.
Monitor loan activity and recommend changes to assist management.
Follow established procedures for Secondary Market lending.
Comply with laws and regulations concerning financial institutions and complete required compliance disks.
Network and work with local realtors and other referral sources to maintain a consistent pipeline and monthly closings.
Contribute to a positive working environment and provide friendly, outstanding service to internal and external customers.
Travel and meet with customers and real estate professionals, including builders.
