About The Position

Performs designated routine patient mobilization tasks under the on-site supervision of the delegating nurse or therapist. The work is supportive in nature. The position does not interpret referrals, perform evaluation procedures, initiate or adjust treatment programs, assume responsibility for planning patient care, or discuss medical diagnoses with patients. The Mobility Technician coordinates daily unit-specific patient mobilization activities, documents in the EMR, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Maintain an active Florida license as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or hold a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist qualification; alternatively, hold a national Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license.
• Alternatively, provide certification of successful completion of an SMH-approved Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation.
• High school diploma, GED, or certificate.
