About The Position
Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is hiring a part-time mobile veterinarian to provide compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families in Nassau County, New York, and surrounding areas. This veterinarian-founded and owned organization offers an alternative to in-clinic practice, with a focus on professional fulfillment, personal freedom, and a supportive culture. The role involves practicing independently in the field while remaining connected to a community of more than 400 veterinarians and support professionals. Veterinarians receive comprehensive onboarding, ongoing training, personalized mentorship, access to experienced leaders, and support from a dedicated 24/7/365 Support Center. The schedule is flexible, with two- to five-day-per-week options, and appointments average three to four per day. The position advertised offers a two-day-per-week schedule with a guaranteed annual base salary of $65,000, plus bonus opportunities and benefits. Compensation details for three-, four-, and five-day schedules are available upon request.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Availability to work some weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Candidates are subject to post-hire background and motor vehicle record checks before their associated start date.
