About The Position

Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is hiring a part-time mobile veterinarian serving Chicago West, Illinois, including Hanover Park, DeKalb, Geneva, Hoffman Estates, Aurora, and surrounding areas. The role provides compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families in their homes. Veterinarians work independently in the field while remaining connected to a community of more than 400 veterinarians and support professionals, with onboarding, mentorship, experienced leaders, and a 24/7/365 Support Center. Schedules are flexible, ranging from two to five days per week. The role averages three to four unrushed appointments per day, allowing time with families and less paperwork. Two-day-per-week positions offer a guaranteed annual base salary of $55,000, plus bonus opportunities and benefits. Compensation details for three-, four-, and five-day schedules are available upon request.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Availability to work some weekends.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Candidates are subject to a background and motor vehicle record check after hire and before their associated start date.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families.
Travel to clients’ homes to provide mobile veterinary services.
Work some weekends.
