About The Position

Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is hiring a full-time mobile veterinarian serving Westchester County, NY, including Bronx, Yonkers, White Plains, New Rochelle, Scarsdale, Yorktown Heights, and surrounding areas. The veterinarian provides compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families in their homes, offering unrushed, meaningful appointments. The role is designed as an alternative to in-clinic practice, with flexible schedules, professional support, training, and opportunities to practice independently while staying connected to an experienced veterinary community.

Available schedules include 3-, 4-, and 5-day full-time opportunities, as well as 3-day part-time opportunities. The company describes an average of 3–4 appointments per day. Compensation varies by schedule: 4-day positions start at $117,500, and 5-day positions offer a $140,000 base salary, with additional bonus opportunities. Compensation for 3-day positions is prorated based on schedule.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent (DVM/VMD/BVMS).
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Availability to work some weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Subject to a post-hire background check and motor vehicle record check before the associated start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families.
• Conduct mobile veterinary appointments in clients’ homes.
• Practice veterinary medicine independently while using available mentorship and support resources.
