About The Position

Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is hiring a part-time mobile veterinarian serving Mechanicsville, Maryland, including Leonardtown, Huntingtown, La Plata, Lusby, Lexington Park, and surrounding areas. The veterinarian provides compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families in their homes. The role offers flexible schedules of two to five days per week, with an average of three to four unhurried appointments per day. Veterinarians receive onboarding, mentorship, access to experienced leaders, and support from a 24/7/365 Support Center. Two-day-per-week opportunities have a guaranteed annual base salary of $40,000, plus bonus opportunities and benefits. Compensation details for three-, four-, and five-day schedules are available upon request.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS degree.
Valid U.S. driver's license.
Availability to work some weekends.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Subject to a post-hire background check and motor vehicle record check before the associated start date.

Responsibilities

Provide hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families.
Travel to appointments in Mechanicsville, Leonardtown, Huntingtown, La Plata, Lusby, Lexington Park, and surrounding areas.
Work some weekends.
