Part-Time Mobile Veterinarian
About The Position
Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is hiring a part-time mobile veterinarian serving Suffolk County, New York, and surrounding communities, including Smithtown, Ronkonkoma, Huntington, Lindenhurst, Bay Shore, and West Islip. The veterinarian provides compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families in their homes. The role offers flexible schedules of two to five days per week, with an average of three to four appointments per day. Part-time opportunities are available for two days per week, with a guaranteed annual base salary of $65,000 plus bonus opportunities and benefits. Compensation details for three-, four-, and five-day schedules are available upon request. Veterinarians receive onboarding, personalized mentorship, access to experienced leaders, and support from a 24/7/365 Support Center. Candidates are subject to background and motor vehicle record checks after hire and before their associated start date.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Availability to work some weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Pass a background and motor vehicle record check after hire and before the associated start date.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate in-home hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families.
- Travel to appointments in Suffolk County, NY, and surrounding areas.
