About The Position

Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is hiring a part-time mobile veterinarian serving Mechanicsville, Maryland, including Leonardtown, Huntingtown, La Plata, Lusby, Lexington Park, and surrounding areas. The veterinarian provides compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families in their homes. The role offers flexible schedules of two to five days per week and averages three to four appointments per day, allowing time for families and less paperwork. Veterinarians work independently while remaining connected to a community of more than 400 veterinarians and support professionals, with onboarding, mentorship, experienced leaders, practice managers, and a 24/7/365 Support Center. Two-day-per-week opportunities offer a guaranteed annual base salary of $40,000 plus bonus opportunities and benefits. Compensation details for three-, four-, and five-day schedules are available upon request.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS degree.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.
• Availability to work some weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Subject to a background and motor vehicle record check after hire and before the associated start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families.
• Travel to appointments in Mechanicsville, Maryland, and surrounding listed areas.
• Work some weekends.
• Participate in onboarding and ongoing mentorship.
