About The Position

The Mobile Service Technician is responsible for maintaining Class 5 through Class 8 trucks and recreational vehicles in accordance with OEM and company guidelines. Work is performed at various locations away from the main shops. The role also involves regular maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs on fire trucks and other emergency vehicles, ensuring work meets high-quality standards. The technician should understand appropriate repair techniques, materials, and safety procedures and be attentive to detail and efficient. The position is contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening. The background check may include verification of criminal history, employment history, educational credentials, and professional references. Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a diesel technician.
• Proven experience as a fire truck technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
• Understanding of appropriate techniques, materials, and safety procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Certification or training in fire apparatus maintenance and repair.
• CDL.
• Prior experience with commercial truck repair.
• Experience with fire truck repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on fire trucks and emergency vehicles.
• Maintain Class 5 through Class 8 trucks and recreational vehicles according to OEM and company guidelines at locations away from the main shops.
• Conduct thorough inspections and testing of firefighting equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with team members and provide technical support and guidance as necessary.
