•$68,640 - $72,800•Onsite

About The Position

The Mobile Safety Associate/Driver supports the safe, respectful, and orderly operation of temporary mobile warming shelters during cold weather events. The position focuses on maintaining a safe environment, assisting with lines and crowds, de-escalating conflicts, driving the mobile shelter van, and responding to safety concerns while treating guests with dignity and compassion. This is not a law enforcement or armed security role; it emphasizes observation, communication, and coordination with shelter leadership and emergency services when needed. Sprinter vans are provided for scheduled routes, so drivers are not required to use personal vehicles for job duties. The role is temporary, full-time, onsite, and requires immediate availability. The expected schedule is three to four days per week, up to 12 hours per day when activated; schedules may vary, and evenings and weekends may be required. The position involves driving throughout the five boroughs of New York City and traveling or deploying to client sites for extended periods. Temporary positions are not eligible for benefits except where required by law.
