Mobile General Skilled Technician
About The Position
BGIS is hiring a Traveling Facility Maintenance Technician (Mobile General Skilled Technician) in Houston, Texas. The technician will maintain client facilities by performing general repairs, small projects, and preventive maintenance, helping prevent costly disruptions. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building systems and equipment while working from a fully equipped service vehicle. The technician will also support trade-specific technicians with minor HVAC and plumbing needs, communicate with clients about service requests, and follow safety standards and building regulations.
Requirements
- Proficiency with power tools and equipment, including drills, saws, and ladders.
- Ability to provide accurate repair estimates.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, plans, and diagrams.
- Budget management experience.
- Comfort using mobile devices such as cellphones and tablets for work orders.
- Demonstrated experience performing general repairs, including painting, carpentry, and plumbing, in commercial settings.
- High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs and small service projects, including work on walls, windows, and doors.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with appliances and building systems.
- Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Provide minor HVAC and plumbing support to trade-specific technicians.
- Engage with clients to confirm service requests and ensure satisfaction.
- Adhere to safety standards and building regulations.
