About The Position

Plaud Inc. is hiring a contractor Mobile Engineer to design and develop core features of the Plaud App, with an emphasis on functionality, performance, reliability, and user experience. The role uses AI-assisted tools to improve development efficiency and code quality. The engineer will build, maintain, and optimize connectivity and data transmission between mobile applications and physical devices. The role also involves implementing and optimizing data interactions among the mobile app, hardware devices, firmware, and backend systems to improve system stability and performance. The position works closely with hardware, firmware, backend, product, and design teams to deliver end-to-end features and ensure seamless system integration. The engineer contributes to technical design, code quality, and long-term codebase maintainability, while exploring and adopting AI-driven engineering practices.

Requirements

Solid experience in mobile application development, with strong coding fundamentals and system design capabilities across complex feature areas.
Strong background in mobile app development on iOS, Android, or Flutter-based cross-platform solutions.
Deep understanding of platform-specific constraints and best practices.
Proven experience building and maintaining software–hardware connectivity and data interaction layers, such as BLE, Wi-Fi, and custom device communication protocols.
Strong ability to debug, optimize, and maintain complex systems spanning mobile apps, devices, firmware, and backend services.
Collaborative mindset and demonstrated end-to-end ownership of features.
Proactive approach to applying AI technologies and AI-assisted tools to improve development efficiency, code quality, and delivery velocity.
