Mobile Dog Groomer
About The Position
Barkbus is hiring a Pet Stylist to provide premium, one-on-one dog grooming in a mobile grooming van. The role focuses on delivering a safe, healthy, stress-free luxury experience for each dog, with a manageable schedule of approximately 3–6 dogs per day. Groomers work independently in state-of-the-art Hanvey grooming vans, while scheduling, customer sales and marketing, van maintenance, and logistical support are handled by other teams. The position includes comprehensive first-week training and ride-alongs, dedicated scheduling assistance, and opportunities to participate in a Community Day offering low-stress grooms at local shelters and rescues. The hiring process includes an application, phone screening, a virtual meeting with a Grooming Manager, an on-site grooming assessment, and a background check. The role is hiring for the Miramar team in the San Diego area.
Requirements
- At least one year of professional dog grooming experience.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Comfortable interacting with customers and pet parents.
- Comfortable using a smartphone; a device is provided.
- Able to safely lift and handle dogs weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Able to safely guide or maneuver dogs weighing up to 100 pounds using the van's equipment, such as a lift or grooming table.
Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of dog grooming, including bathing, cutting, shaving, and trimming.
- Provide premium one-on-one care and prioritize each dog's safety and grooming quality.
- Walk dogs before appointments and keep the grooming van clean and organized.
- Operate independently in a Hanvey grooming van.
- Work with scheduling support to maintain a manageable daily appointment schedule.
- Participate in first-week training and ride-alongs.
- Participate in a Community Day providing low-stress grooms at local shelters and rescues.
