Mobile Dog Groomer
About The Position
Barkbus is hiring a Pet Stylist to provide a stress-free, luxury grooming experience for dogs in a mobile grooming van. Groomers provide one-on-one care and perform all aspects of grooming while working independently in state-of-the-art Hanvey grooming vans. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and a manageable schedule of approximately 3–6 dogs per day. Scheduling assistance, van maintenance, and logistical support are provided by dedicated teams. Training during the first week includes ride-alongs, and employees can participate in a Community Day providing low-stress grooms at local shelters and rescues. Current Los Angeles-area teams are in Torrance, Westwood, and Woodland Hills.
Requirements
- At least one year of professional dog grooming experience.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Comfort interacting with customers and pet parents.
- Comfort using smartphones; a device is provided.
- Ability to safely lift and handle dogs up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to safely guide or maneuver dogs up to 100 pounds using van equipment such as a lift or grooming table.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one grooming care, including bathing, cutting, shaving, and trimming dogs.
- Walk dogs before appointments and help maintain a smooth daily workflow.
- Keep the grooming van clean and organized.
- Operate independently within a Hanvey grooming van.
- Prioritize safety and quality while maintaining a manageable daily schedule.
- Participate in first-week training and ride-alongs.
- Participate in a Community Day providing low-stress grooming at local shelters and rescues.
