Mobile Dog Groomer
About The Position
Barkbus is hiring a Pet Stylist to provide a stress-free, luxury mobile grooming experience for dogs in its Santa Ana-area team. The groomer works independently in a state-of-the-art Hanvey grooming van and provides one-on-one care while maintaining a manageable daily schedule focused on safety and quality. Groomers typically manage schedules of 3–6 dogs per day. Scheduling assistance and van maintenance and logistical support are provided by dedicated teams. Various shift types are available. Full-time groomers receive benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health benefits, and a 401(k). Employees working 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the listed comprehensive benefits. The first week includes training and ride-alongs. Pet Stylists may also participate in a Community Day providing low-stress grooming services at local shelters and rescues.
Requirements
- At least one year of professional dog grooming experience.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Comfort interacting with customers and pet parents.
- Comfort using smartphones; a device is provided.
- Ability to safely lift and handle dogs weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to safely guide or maneuver dogs weighing up to 100 pounds using the van's equipment, such as a lift or grooming table.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one grooming care, including bathing, cutting, shaving, and trimming dogs.
- Walk dogs before appointments and maintain a clean, organized grooming van.
- Operate independently in a Hanvey grooming van.
- Prioritize safety and quality while maintaining a manageable daily schedule.
- Interact comfortably with customers and pet parents.
- Participate in launch-week training and ride-alongs.
- Participate in a Community Day offering low-stress grooms at local shelters and rescues.
