Entry Level Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Cox Automotive•St Louis, MO

About The Position

Cox Fleet’s FleeTec Academy is a paid educational program designed to prepare people for a career as a Diesel Technician. Participants complete classroom instruction in diesel-engine fundamentals and truck repair, followed by hands-on training with a Lead Technician in their market. The program includes paid training, travel expenses, hotel accommodation, a meal stipend, and a set of hand tools with a toolbox. After the initial classroom phase, participants are offered a full-time Mobile Diesel Mechanic position. Further classroom study occurs during the multi-year development program, which leads to qualification as a Diesel Technician upon successful completion. Mobile Technicians use an assigned, fully equipped service vehicle to perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations. The role focuses on onsite service so customers can keep their vehicles running efficiently, rather than routine emergency roadside repairs. The posting describes a 10-week classroom training schedule, including time at the Academy Campus and a later four-week class in Indianapolis.
