Entry Level Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Cox Automotive•Saginaw, MI

About The Position

Cox Fleet’s FleeTec Academy is a paid educational program for people seeking to start a career in diesel maintenance. Participants complete classroom training at the Academy Campus, followed by hands-on training with a Lead Technician in their market. Successful completion of the program provides a pathway to a full-time Mobile Diesel Mechanic position and, after completion of the multi-year program, qualification as a Diesel Technician. Mobile Technicians use an assigned, state-of-the-art service vehicle to perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customers’ locations. The role focuses on helping customers keep their vehicles operating efficiently and does not involve roadside emergency truck repairs as an everyday duty. The program provides technical education, hand tools and a toolbox, paid training, travel expenses, hotel accommodation, and meal stipends. The posting describes pay progressing from $16 per hour (or applicable state minimum wage, whichever is greater) during the initial phase, to $19 per hour during subsequent training, and $21 per hour upon graduation.
