About The Position

Cox Fleet’s paid FleeTec Academy is an educational and training program for people beginning a career in diesel maintenance. Trainees complete classroom instruction at the Academy Campus, followed by hands-on training with a Lead Technician in their market. The program includes paid training, travel expenses, hotel accommodation, a meal stipend, and a set of hand tools with a toolbox. Participants return for additional classroom study during the multi-year program. After the initial classroom phase, participants are offered a full-time job as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic in their market; successful completion of the program leads to qualification as a Diesel Technician. Mobile Technicians use an assigned, equipped service vehicle to perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations. The role is focused on onsite maintenance rather than routine emergency roadside repairs. The posting describes training pay of $16 per hour (or the applicable state minimum wage, whichever is greater), plus a taxed weekly stipend during the first phase; $19 per hour during the following six weeks and the second four-week classroom session, plus a taxed weekly stipend during that session; and $21 per hour upon graduation. The position may also be eligible for commission and/or an incentive program. The program requires a commitment to ten weeks away from home for training. The role involves travel, listed as 100% of the time, and a variable work shift. Candidates must be at least 21 to drive a company truck.
