About The Position

Adams Animal Care, located in Adams, Nebraska, is seeking a Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join their team. This practice emphasizes community culture, client relationships, and providing high-quality care with flexible treatment options to accommodate client budgets. The role involves working at both Adams Animal Care and its sister clinic, Tecumseh Animal Clinic, offering exposure to a diverse caseload including small animals, large animals, and exotics. The daily work can vary between small and large animal focus, with house calls for farm animals and a heated area for large animal treatments. The practice hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8am to 5pm, Wednesday from 8am to 7pm, and Saturday from 8am to 12pm. Sunday is closed. A daily lunch break is scheduled from 12pm to 1pm. The position includes rotating weekend schedules and on-call emergency shifts.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
  • Experience or interest in equine care, surgery, and general practice.
  • Willingness to grow skills in these areas, especially for new graduates.
  • Ability to work with small animals, large animals, and equine patients.
  • Valid veterinary license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality care and building client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality veterinary care to a diverse range of animals, including small, large, equine, and exotics.
  • Perform examinations, diagnostics, and treatments for various animal species.
  • Conduct house calls for farm animals.
  • Rotate between Adams Animal Care and Tecumseh Animal Clinic.
  • Participate in rotating weekend schedules and on-call emergency shifts.
  • Collaborate with a team of veterinarians and staff.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients and understand their needs and financial constraints.
  • Offer flexible treatment options to clients.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as digital X-ray, diagnostic lab machines, and ultrasound.
  • Administer gas anesthesia.
  • Chart using ProVet Cloud-based Software, with the flexibility to chart at home.
  • Gain experience in general practice and urgent care.
  • Potentially gain experience in equine care and surgery.
