About The Position
Spoon River Animal Clinic is seeking a Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to practice diverse mixed animal medicine, treating companion animals, equine patients, and livestock throughout the Canton community and surrounding rural areas. The clinic is a full-service hospital with modern facilities, including advanced diagnostics, digital radiology, an in-house laboratory, surgical and dental suites, and a dedicated haul-in facility for large animals. Farm calls are also a component of the services offered. The clinic has a long-tenured, experienced team and fosters a supportive, collaborative, and team-oriented culture. They are deeply connected to their community and actively participate in local outreach efforts. Spoon River Animal Clinic has been serving the community since 1981 and is proud to be AAHA-accredited.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD from an AVMA-accredited institution
- Active Illinois veterinary license in good standing (or ability to obtain)
- Current DEA and MO BNDD License (or ability to obtain)
- Small & large animal knowledge/interest
Responsibilities
- Practice mixed animal medicine, treating dogs, cats, horses, cattle, swine, small ruminants, and occasional exotics.
- Provide a range of services including preventive care, surgery, herd health consultations, equine dentistry, and farm calls.
- Collaborate with an experienced team of technicians and support staff.
- Contribute to a supportive, team-oriented culture.
- Participate in community outreach efforts.
