About The Position

Excellent opportunity for a mixed animal practitioner in southwest Missouri! This role offers a multi-generational, highly collaborative, team-based approach to true mixed-animal medicine with ample learning opportunities. Client relationships are built on trust and mutual respect. The Animal Clinic of Monett (Monett, MO) is a traditional rural practice serving as the foundation for pet and livestock care in its community, offering a dynamic mix of species, cases, and clients, practicing with modern technology and a full support team. The Animal Clinic of Monett has been in the community since 1989, founded by Drs. Ted and Carol Dahlstrom. Dr. Ted's expertise and deep ties to Southwest Missouri's cattle community, along with his devotion to clients, have been the driving legacy of ACM. Dr. John Harper (Missouri '88) joined ACM in 1994 and is a versatile mixed animal practitioner, skilled in small animal orthopedic surgery and caring for horses and cattle. Dr. John Tyra (Mississippi State '10) joined ACM after graduating, specializing in beef and dairy production medicine and bovine reproduction, and is now stepping into the practice leadership role. Dr. Rachael Kluppel (Mississippi State '26) joined ACM this year as a new graduate. One to two additional new-grad associates are expected to join the practice in spring 2026. ACM is in an exciting season of growth and has partnered with Heritage Vet Partners, receiving support from a certified executive coach to foster strong leadership and a positive culture. The technicians and administrative support team are experienced and capable, allowing doctors to focus on medicine. The practice values progressive, trusting clients and has built its foundation on mutual respect and a shared desire for positive outcomes.
