Requirements

  • Analytical skills, initiating ideas, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, theory, and engineering experience gained through projects, internships, and/or relevant work experiences.
  • Fundamental understanding of engineering for a manufacturing environment, ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to quickly gain and effectively apply new skills & knowledge.
  • Success in collaborating with others of diverse cultures, interpersonal styles, and abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to participate in, and build on our inclusive, constructive, and productive work environment.
  • Ensure all team member’s contributions are recognized and valued.
  • Currently attending a 2-year accredited university/college MBA program and have completed an Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science Degree.
  • Expected graduation by August 2027.
  • Must be willing to travel and relocate domestically.

Nice To Haves

  • Participation in campus design or competition teams, or similar hands-on technical projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership in team settings or project management roles.
  • Previous technical internship, co-op, or other relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Complete a multi-phase program that includes participant choice of three rotational assignments in areas such as New Technology Validation, Autonomy Design, Product Electrification, Product Value Chain Design, Strategic Procurement, Lean Innovation, Manufacturing Operations, or Field Assignment (Mine Site Autonomy Deployment or Services Growth).
  • Receive mentorship by a senior Caterpillar Executive.
  • Participate in intentional leadership development & experiential learning opportunities.
  • Complete 12–18 month assignments.
