About The Position

Threat Systems Engineering (TSE) develops and delivers high-fidelity threat modeling products in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and its Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). TSE develops and sustains models and simulations used to stimulate BMDS element models, including kinematic missile and infrared (IR) signature modeling, data production and analysis, and maintenance of the TSE software baseline. TSE is a cornerstone element of the Threat and Advanced Simulations Development (TASD) contract. This detail-oriented engineer develops high-fidelity threat missile signature data packages for use in modeling and simulation tools and media. The role applies modeling and simulation methods, engineering principles, and mathematical algorithms to accurately represent expected missile-flight phenomenology. The selected candidate works with limited direct supervision as part of a product delivery team and meets time-critical delivery schedules. The position is onsite daily at Schriever Space Force Base; remote and hybrid work are not available. The posting describes requirements at Level 2 and Level 3, with differing education and experience thresholds.

Requirements

  • For Level 2: A bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a master's degree in a STEM discipline and no experience. A STEM bachelor's degree is described as preferred.
  • For Level 3: A bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, a master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a doctorate in a STEM discipline and no experience. A STEM bachelor's degree is described as preferred.
