About The Position

This position will assist Millwright journeymen in the demolition of existing clarifier equipment and the reinstallation of new equipment. The project is scheduled for 40+ hours per week and has an estimated duration of 1 year. This role requires the ability to take direction from a higher-skilled worker or foreman and involves working in other crafts as requested by project supervision. The focus is on producing high-quality work safely and productively, while identifying opportunities for improvement and learning about safety hazards.

Requirements

  • Must have one to two years of experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry.
  • Must have a general understanding of the craft work being performed.
  • Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective Math skills – add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • NCCER Core Curriculum and/or a High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Millwright in the planning, lay-out, and performance of all types of mechanical equipment setting, installation, alignment, and maintenance work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
  • Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew.
  • Produce high quality work, safely and productively at all times.
  • Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information is available for the work.
  • Look for opportunities for improvement in all tasks, means and methods regarding the work and be willing to learn from others.
  • Learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work.
  • Learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment.
  • Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.
  • Ask a supervisor before continuing if unsure about any aspect of the work or issues regarding safe practices.
