About The Position

This position will assist Millwright journeymen in the demolition of existing clarifier equipment and the reinstallation of new equipment. The project is scheduled for 40+ hours per week and has an estimated duration of 1 year. This role requires the ability to take direction from a higher-skilled worker or foreman and involves working in other crafts as requested by project supervision. The focus is on producing high-quality work safely and productively, while identifying opportunities for improvement and learning about safety hazards.

Requirements

Must have one to two years of experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry.
Must have a general understanding of the craft work being performed.
Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman.
Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
Effective Math skills – add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
Must pass pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves

NCCER Core Curriculum and/or a High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist Millwright in the planning, lay-out, and performance of all types of mechanical equipment setting, installation, alignment, and maintenance work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.
Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew.
Produce high quality work, safely and productively at all times.
Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information is available for the work.
Look for opportunities for improvement in all tasks, means and methods regarding the work and be willing to learn from others.
Learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work.
Learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment.
Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.
Ask a supervisor before continuing if unsure about any aspect of the work or issues regarding safe practices.
