The Millwright Helper 1 executes helper duties to assist an assigned crew. The role supports mechanics with assembly and work performance, demolition, cleanup, debris removal, material handling, and building and ground maintenance. It also involves basic rigging, threading and cutting pipe and other materials, driving a forklift and pickup truck, and using and caring for basic hand, electric power, and pneumatic tools. Additional responsibilities may be required.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the industrial construction or maintenance industry.
• Knowledge of fire protecting, different types of metals, bearings, mechanical seals, tandem seals, compression packing, multi-stage pumps, vertical pumps, different types of drive coupling, cooling tower fan units, gearboxes, and agitators.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic rigging, including use of come-alongs.
• Thread metal pipe and conduit.
• Cut pipe, conduit, metal, and wood.
• Handle materials.
• Drive a forklift and pickup truck.
• Use basic tools and care for tools.
• Use hand, electric power, and pneumatic tools.
• Assist mechanics with assembly and work performance.
• Assist with demolition, cleaning, and debris removal.
• Perform building and ground maintenance.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.
