About The Position

The Millwright 1 is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and applying insulation to pipe at a job site. The position also involves equipment installation, alignment, repair, maintenance, and precision measurement.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the industrial construction or maintenance industry.
• NCCER Certified Plus.
• Knowledge of reverse alignment where required.
• Knowledge of different types of metals and bearings.
• Knowledge of mechanical seals, tandem seals, and compression packing.
• Knowledge of multistage and vertical pumps.
• Knowledge of different types of drive couplings.
• Knowledge of cooling tower fan units, gearboxes, and agitators.
• Knowledge of gas turbines where applicable, steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, and reciprocating compressors.
• Knowledge of machine shop equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic reading and IRD reading.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and layouts.
• Level and align pump bases.
• Level and align equipment such as compressors, turbines, paper machines, and centrifuges.
• Conduct pump repair and maintenance.
• Set impeller clearance on pumps.
• Set fan blades.
• Align motors to gearboxes.
• Measure precision fits.
