Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent, with previous years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Field experience in the chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools, and layout tools.
• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools.
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, which may exceed 200 feet.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload.

Responsibilities

• Learn to use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, and align machinery, and install other items.
• Assist with reviewing and verifying inventory of equipment and machine components; checking the accuracy of the line and grade of existing foundations; preparing foundations for grouting and/or machinery placement; establishing and using centerlines and bench marks; establishing proper elevation of subsole and sole plates; setting and aligning machine components; and mixing and placing all types of grout.
• Assist skilled craftspeople with torquing equipment and machinery; rig equipment and machinery and direct crane operators during placement; test installed machinery and equipment; and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
• Assist with dismantling machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools, and moving machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Assist with assembling and installing equipment; align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, micrometers, and plumb bobs; and assemble machines and attach them to foundations or other structures according to project specifications.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
