About The Position

Plan, lay out, install, and align equipment and machinery in accordance with plans, specifications, tolerances, and industry standards. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. The role includes preparing foundations and machinery components, assembling and dismantling equipment, rigging and placing machinery, testing installations, and making necessary adjustments or repairs.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience in the field or a related area.
• Working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools.
• Able to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, which may exceed 200 feet.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by workload.

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram, and lay out millwright work.
• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, and align machinery and install other items.
• Review and verify inventory of equipment and machine components; check foundation line and grade; prepare foundations for grouting or machinery placement; establish and use centerlines and benchmarks; establish proper elevation of subsole and sole plates; set and align machine components; mix and place grout.
• Torque and rig equipment and machinery, direct crane operators during placement, test installed machinery and equipment, and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
• Dismantle machines using hand tools and move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Assemble and install equipment; align machinery using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, micrometers, and plumb bobs; attach machines to foundations or other structures according to project specifications.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
