About The Position

The Pipefitter Craftsman 2 lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. This intermediate-level role involves reading isometric drawings, taking measurements, fabricating and installing piping, and completing piping system hydro tests. The position may require a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience in the field or a related area.

Understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
Use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
Meet all physical requirements.
Have all required tools.
Be able to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, potentially exceeding 200 feet.
Be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by workload.

Responsibilities

Read isometric drawings, take measurements, and fabricate and install piping efficiently.
Align, bolt, and clamp components of fabricated metal products to secure them for welding.
Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading joints.
Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation, and install items in accordance with applicable plans and specifications.
Distinguish between different thicknesses and types of metal materials.
Manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment.
Operate beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a Saw-Zall.
Lay out and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
Hydro test piping systems.
Observe and comply with safety and project rules.
Perform other duties as required.
