About The Position

The Pipefitter Craftsman 2 lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. This is an intermediate-level position involving piping fabrication and installation, equipment layout, and hydro testing.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent, along with previous years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Must possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools.
• Able to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, which may exceed 200 feet.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by workload.
• Must observe and comply with all safety and project rules.

Responsibilities

• Read isometric drawings, take measurements, and fabricate and install piping efficiently.
• Align, bolt, and clamp components of fabricated metal products to secure them in position for welding.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading joints.
• Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation, and install items according to applicable plans and specifications.
• Distinguish between varying thicknesses and types of metal materials.
• Manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment.
• Operate beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a Saw-Zall.
• Lay out and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
• Hydro test piping systems.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules, and perform other duties as required.
