About The Position

The Pipefitter Craftsman 2 lays out, assembles, installs, or maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. This intermediate-level role involves reading isometric drawings, measuring, fabricating, and installing piping, as well as laying out and installing equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, piping, and supports. The role also includes hydrotesting piping systems and using rigging equipment and pipefitting tools in a construction or industrial environment.

Requirements

May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with prior experience in the field or a related area.
Working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
Must have required tools.
May require a U.S. driver's license.
Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction or industrial site, as required.

Responsibilities

Read isometric drawings, take measurements, and fabricate and install piping efficiently.
Align, bolt, and clamp components of fabricated metal products into position for welding.
Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading joints.
Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation, and install items in accordance with applicable plans and specifications.
Distinguish between different thicknesses and types of metal materials.
Manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment.
Operate beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a Saw-Zall.
Lay out and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
Hydrotest piping systems.
Observe and comply with safety and project rules, and perform other duties as required.
