About The Position

This open position is with Mon Power, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., and is based at the Morgantown Service Center. The role involves reading meters at customer premises, checking for possible service diversion or meter irregularities, and carrying out additional customer and meter service duties when assigned. The position pays $22.36 per hour and requires use of a personal all-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive vehicle, for which mileage reimbursement is available.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Live within 40 minutes of the reporting service center.
• Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Possess and use an all-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive vehicle to read meters; eligible for mileage reimbursement.
• Ability to safely drive and walk in all types of weather and over all types of terrain.
• Ability to successfully deal with customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous meter reading experience.

Responsibilities

• Read meters installed on customer premises.
• Visually check for and report service diversion and meter irregularities.
• Perform collection activities when assigned.
• Perform single-phase reconnects, disconnects, and meter exchanges when assigned.
• Perform duties in alignment with storm restoration efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
