About The Position

The Meter Reader is part of the SourceOne energy management team and is responsible for collecting meter information and maintaining strong working relationships with SourceOne customers. The role involves managing field meter data collection for multiple customers, supporting customer utility-billing issue resolution, assisting with new customer account creation, and identifying abnormal metering situations. The Meter Reader also supports administrative activities such as accounting, reporting, sales processes, data entry, phone coverage, and general administration.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Good PC and Microsoft Office skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to review materials for accuracy.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong telephone etiquette.
• Ability and flexibility to learn and apply new skills.
• Ability to navigate a variety of computer applications.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• High level of professionalism and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional service to account relationships and build customer relationships as a member of the management team.
• Gather and consolidate data from varied sources.
• Manage field meter data collection for multiple customers on a daily and monthly basis.
• Support field inquiry requests to help resolve customer utility-billing issues.
• Coordinate and assist with field information for new customer account creation.
• Research and identify field procedures for authorizations to access customer meter locations and utility information.
• Proactively identify abnormal metering situations and advise the Energy Management team.
• Support business administration, including accounting, reporting, the sales process, data entry, backup phone support, and general administration.
