About The Position

This is an open position with Mon Power, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The role reads meters located on customer premises and checks for and reports service diversion and meter irregularities. Other duties include collection activities, single-phase reconnects and disconnects, meter exchanges, and supporting storm restoration efforts. The position requires use of a personal four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive vehicle; mileage reimbursement is available for vehicle use. The hourly rate is $22.36.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Live within 40 minutes of the reporting service center.
• Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Possess and use an all-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive vehicle to read meters.
• Ability to safely drive and walk in all types of weather and over all types of terrain.
• Ability to successfully deal with customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous meter-reading experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read meters installed on customer premises and visually check for and report service diversion and meter irregularities.
• Perform collection activities when assigned.
• Perform single-phase reconnects, disconnects, and meter exchanges when assigned.
• Perform duties in alignment with storm restoration efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Use a personal four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive vehicle to read meters.
