About The Position

The Merchant Service Representative III fills orders for currency and coins and counts and records cash deposits in a commercial bank vault. The role includes handling customer deposits and cash shipments, maintaining analyzed-account data, and providing The Citizens Experience to internal and external customers. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or a minimum of one year of experience as a service representative in a financial institution.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other associates.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; and draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including regularly standing, using hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, and telephone, reaching, talking, and hearing; frequently stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; occasionally walking, sitting, and climbing or balancing; regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
• Close vision.

Responsibilities

• Comply with and stay abreast of all applicable policies and procedures and federal and state laws.
• Count currency, coins, and checks received for deposit in the vault.
• Total currency and checks to verify amounts on deposit slips or other forms.
• Record deposits in customer account records.
• Remove specified amounts of currency and coins from the vault, prepare cash bags for shipment to a business or branch bank, and record the amount shipped.
• Count and record large-denomination bills, mutilated currency, and food stamps for shipment to the Federal Reserve Bank.
• Perform data entry and maintenance of analyzed accounts.
• Provide, present, and promote The Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
