About The Position

The Merchant Service Representative I fills orders for currency and coins and counts and records cash deposits in a commercial bank vault. The role also performs data entry and maintenance of analyzed accounts and promotes The Citizens Experience to internal and external customers. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or at least one year of experience as a service representative in a financial institution.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group settings.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including regularly lifting or moving up to 50 pounds and frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Comply with and stay current on policies and procedures and applicable federal and state laws.
Count currency, coins, and checks received for deposit in the vault.
Total currency and checks to verify the amount shown on a deposit slip or other form.
Record deposits in customer account records.
Remove specified amounts of currency and coins from the vault and prepare cash bags for shipment to a business or branch bank.
Record the amount of cash shipped.
Count and record large-denomination bills, mutilated currency, and food stamps for shipment to the Federal Reserve Bank.
Perform data entry and maintenance of analyzed accounts.
Provide, present, and promote The Citizens Experience to external and internal customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
