People Encouraging People is seeking a Mental Health Therapist for its Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. The role provides hands-on, team-based support to individuals with serious mental illness, helping them live independently, avoid hospitalization, and build meaningful lives in their communities. Services are delivered in homes, shelters, and other community settings rather than through traditional office-based outpatient therapy. The therapist shares responsibility for a team caseload and works alongside psychiatry, nursing, case management, and peer support staff. The position supports clients with symptom management, crisis intervention, housing stability, substance use recovery, and daily living skills. The work is field-based and flexible, involves adapting to changing situations, and uses individualized approaches rather than one-size-fits-all treatment plans. The role aims to reduce hospitalizations and support long-term recovery.
