About The Position

Coastal Harbor Health System is a specialized behavioral healthcare provider with facilities in Savannah, Georgia, including inpatient programs for children, adolescents, and adults. The Mental Health Technician supports adult behavioral health patients through attentive care and supervision, relationship-building, observation and documentation, and compassionate crisis intervention. This position works as part of a collaborative team to promote patient safety, healing, and positive outcomes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced work environment.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of behavioral health experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support patients through meals, activities, and programming, helping maintain a structured and engaging environment.
• Monitor for safety concerns, anticipate challenges, and calmly de-escalate situations using sound judgment.
• Build trust-based relationships through positive communication, active listening, and encouragement of healthy behaviors and boundaries.
• Partner with Clinical and Admissions teams to support patient screenings and assessments.
• Support patients’ daily living needs while promoting dignity, independence, confidence, and progress.
