About The Position

The Red Rock Job Corps Mental Health Consultant will provide comprehensive evaluation, education and intervention services to students who are experiencing emotional disturbances or developmental disabilities. The objective is the enhancement of adjustment in the student's environment and in the community through intervention in crises, alleviation of stress, recommendations for the use of medication when indicated through consultation with the Center physician, continuity of therapy for those students transferred from other services, and focusing on barriers that would affect employability and successful community integration.

Requirements

• Pennsylvania license in clinical social work (LCSW) or professional counseling (LPC).
• Ability to work effectively with adolescents and children.
• Thorough understanding of therapeutic interventions and treatment planning.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of the philosophy, mandates and operation of community mental health services.
• Successful completion of an FBI Clearance.
• Successful completion of a PA Criminal Clearance.
• Successful completion of a Child Abuse Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, education and intervention services to students experiencing emotional disturbances or developmental disabilities.
• Enhance student adjustment in their environment and community through crisis intervention and stress alleviation.
• Make recommendations for medication use in consultation with the Center physician.
• Ensure continuity of therapy for students transferred from other services.
• Address barriers affecting employability and successful community integration.

Benefits

• $4000 sign-on bonus (50% granted at 6 months of employment, remainder granted at 1 year of employment.)
