About The Position

The Garland Thompson Men's Center at Open Door Mission provides emergency services for men, including food, shelter, and clothing, as well as programs addressing the root causes of homelessness and poverty. The Men's Ministry Welcome Desk Associate oversees the front desk, serves as the first point of contact with the public, checks bags, and verifies entrants into the building. The role also involves training front desk students and volunteers, greeting visitors and tours, handling calls and paperwork, and reflecting the organization’s Christian mission.

Requirements

Have a visible relationship with Christ and regularly attend a Bible-believing church.
Be able to share the Gospel as opportunities arise.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two or more years of reception experience.
Two or more years of office management experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

Train front desk students and volunteers on front desk protocols and ensure protocols are followed.
Greet visitors and tours and notify the appropriate staff.
Assist with uploading paperwork into Service Point.
Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate party.
Exemplify Jesus Christ daily and share the Gospel or pray with others as opportunities arise.
Check bags and verify entrants into the building.
